Crypto.com appoints Antonio Alvarez, former director of Visa and Coinbase, as chief compliance officer

According to the news, Crypto.com announced the appointment of Antonio Alvarez as the Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for leading the global compliance work of Crypto.com’s entire product ecosystem. Before joining Crypto.com, an anti-money laundering (AML) program led by Antonio Alvarez was deployed in Coinbase’s European and Asian markets. He also served as a senior business executive at Visa and held senior positions at several payment companies including Western Union. Earlier in his career, he worked for American Express for 13 years and was responsible for leading business transformation and compliance governance programs across multiple business lines and regions. Crypto.com co-founder and chief executive Kris Marszalek stated that Antonio Alvarez’s mission is to perform compliance and regulatory functions, helping local businesses and licensing work in some key markets.
