Revolut adds support for Shiba Inu (SHIB) and 28 encryptions to serve its US customers

Revolut expands its U.S. cryptocurrency offering.

Crypto-friendly Crypto banking startup Revolut has added Shiba Inu (SHIB) to its existing list of supported crypto assets, along with 28 other cryptocurrencies, according to today’s announcement.

The company noted that the development follows a partnership with Apex Crypto, a leading cryptocurrency services provider.

With this development, Revolut has more than quadrupled the number of crypto-asset offerings in the U.S., enabling its clients to gain access to a variety of coins and tokens, said Mazen Eljundi, Revolut’s global head of cryptocurrency operations.

To celebrate this milestone, Revolut announced that its clients are entitled to zero-commission trades of up to $200,000. Additionally, Revolut plans to launch full staking services for newly added cryptocurrencies soon.

SHIB cleared, but some tokens still under regulatory scrutiny

In addition to Shiba Inu, other cryptocurrencies on the list include Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Avalanche (AVAX), among others. Currently, none of the newly added tokens or tokens are listed as securities by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a move that will help solidify Revolut’s position as a major U.S. cryptocurrency broker to compete with top companies like Coinbase.

However, some tokens are still pending approval from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) for trading.

Expansion of Revolut in the US

Revolut has been expanding its U.S. footprint recently and has partnered with leading cryptocurrency companies to achieve this goal. In 20202, Revolut partnered with Paxos to provide cryptocurrency custody services. However, the partnership ended last month, prompting Revolut to assure its customers that the decision would open the door to more features and functionality.

SHIB’s popularity makes it listed again

At the same time, given the popularity of cryptocurrencies over the years, it is no surprise that Shiba Inu is on the list. SHIB is currently one of the trending cryptocurrencies and has been added to top cryptocurrency trading platforms including Robinhood.

With the addition of Shiba Inu as one of the tradable crypto assets on Revolut, the token will be available to the more than 7 million US customers currently registered on the platform.
